Academic background

Obtained a Doctorate of Laws from the University of Malta in 1995

Diplomatic and Consular Service

Anton Tabone entered the Malta Diplomatic Service and served the Government of Malta as a senior diplomat at the Permanent Mission of Malta to the United Nations in New York between 1996 and 2000. During his tenure in New York, the Government of Malta appointed him as Consul to the Maltese communities living in the States of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

In 2013 Anton was appointed Ambassador by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) to represent it at the United Nations in New York. PAM has observer status membership at the United Nations.

Political service

Anton Tabone hails from an established Maltese political family who occupied the most senior positions in Malta’s political arena.  

Anton himself served his community as Local Councillor of his hometown Victoria, Gozo, between 2000 and 2005 and contested elections to become a Member of the European Parliament in Brussels in 2004.

Legal service

Anton’s law practice specialised in corporate law and financial services including, but not limited to, the incorporation and administration of Maltese companies, tax planning and formation and management of trusts. He sat on the board of directors of a number of Maltese incorporated Companies and Professional Investor Funds. Anton occupied the position of President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Malta (2008-2010) during which time he spearheaded a number of initiatives aimed towards establishing closer and stronger business relations between Malta and the USA.

Anton Tabone is an accredited agent licensed by the Government of Malta to assist international high-net-worth-individuals acquire Maltese citizenship and Maltese residency through investment.(www.maltaimmigration.com) 

Private Equity

 Anton’s most recent entrepreneurial initiative is the creation of Luzzu Venture Partners Ltd. - a private equity investment group comprised of 10 international high-net-worth individuals (hailing from the U.S., Israel, Turkey, Lebanon, Armenia, Germany) who partnered with Anton with the aim of investing in added-value business opportunities in both Malta and globally.
